How useful is Peterson's perspective of a production of culture perspective in relation to explaning the birth of rock and roll?
Peterson uses six factors to explain the birth of rock and roll. These are law, technology, industry structure, organisation structure, occupational career and the market. Peterson highlight some good points such as with portable radios for peoples houses and even cars, places people could not get televisions. Different careers evolved such as craftsmen, showmen and entrepeners creating a different music envoirenment. In the 1950's the market became bigger with the introduction of the top 40 charts after the radio became flooded with new music. Peterson also mentions the myths, explaining supplys such as Elvis and Chuck Berry, also the baby boom, as the babys would only be around 9 years old. A big aspect in Petersons review is the fact he does not mention anything about the music. He also does not mention the fact about the technology of the electric guitar, one of the main factors for rock and roll.

This is not a bad summary of Peterson's ideas and does address some of their strengths and weaknesses. Do be careful about your grammar and spelling, which let you down a little bit at times here.
